Which ISO Is Right for You? It’s Not Always What You Think

Navigating the world of ISO can be confusing.

You might think you need a specific certification, but once we sit down and talk, we sometimes discover a different standard would be more beneficial for your business.

For example, a client might initially ask for ISO 27001 (Information Security), but after a chat, we might find that ISO 9001 (Quality Management) would be more useful to them right now. Or, depending on their goals, we might advise them to just focus on a single standard to start.

The great news is that a lot of the standards are designed to work together. Most of the basic ISO standards share a common structure called Annex SL. This means many of the clauses are the same across different certifications, with just small additions here and there.

This common baseline makes it much easier to merge different standards into a single, integrated management system. Instead of multiple complex processes, you can have one streamlined system that covers everything from quality to environmental impact and beyond. It’s all about finding the right fit for your business and making the process as straightforward as possible.
